Evaluating Parts

Sometimes problems don't reveal themselves readily.  I didn't spot this crack until the primer helped make it more obvious.

March 2015
 Removed the instruments from the panel and cleaned them up a bit.  Tested as much as I could and replaced the vacuum filter in the turn & slip indicator.

and I can't find the keys!


Also cleaned up and straightened a few other parts:

Switched to aluminum oxide media in the blaster for the rudder peddles, which also needed to be straightened and a couple of small weld repairs.

Oh and I used a canopy frame (we used to store our camper under) to make a paint booth of sorts...

 Checking the engine mount.  Most of its integrity seems to come from being bolted to the fuselage, but wanted to make sure it's reasonably "square"

 Etch-cleaning, primer and then Imron.
